Michael Butter is Professor of American Studies at the University of Tübingen and member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His research interests include various dimensions of popular and visual culturel, and while he has never published on video games, he frequently integrated the discussion of such games into his classes. In 2021 he was awarded the Tübingen Prize for Knowledge Communication.
