Fotoausstellung von Micaiah Carter. „Tender Heart“ ist eine visuelle Meditation über Vermächtnis, Erinnerung und Identität: Durch eine Mischung aus Portraits, Familienfotos und Abzügen aus privaten Fotoalben gibt Carter nahezu vertraute Einblicke in seine Herkunft, Familie und das Leben der Schwarzen Community in Victorville, Kalifornien – seiner Heimatstadt. Er lädt die Betrachter zu einer intimen und kollektiven Reise ein, auf der die Vergangenheit nicht festgeschrieben ist, sondern durch die großformatigen Fotografien weiterleben kann. In seiner Fotokunst verbindet Micaiah Carter Jugendkultur, bildende Kunst und Streetstyle mit eindrücklichen Momenten des Alltags und zeigt: Schwarze Identität ist fließend, zart, widerstandsfähig und erneuert sich ständig.
Micaiah Carter gilt als einer der meist gefragtesten Fotografen seiner Branche und ist bekannt für seine Portraits von Größen wie u.a. The Weekend, Zendaya oder Pharell Williams und seinen Auftragsarbeiten für Nike, Apple oder Adidas. Aus der Werbefotografie kommend, hat er unter anderem für Publikationen wie Vogue, Time Magazine, The New York Times oder Vanity Fair fotografiert. Carter lebt und arbeitet in Los Angeles und New York.

Photography exhibition by Micaiah Carter. “Tender Heart” is a visual meditation on legacy, memory, and identity: Through a mixture of portraits, family photos, and prints from private photo albums, Carter offers deeply intimate insights into his heritage, family, and the life of the Black community in Victorville, California—his hometown. He invites viewers on an intimate and collective journey where the past is not set in stone but lives on through the large-format photographs. In his photographic art, Micaiah Carter blends youth culture, fine art, and street style with striking moments of everyday life, demonstrating that Black identity is fluid, tender, resilient, and constantly renewing itself.
Micaiah Carter is considered one of the most sought-after photographers in his field and is known for his portraits of stars such as The Weekend, Zendaya, and Pharrell Williams, as well as his commissioned work for, but not limited to, Nike, Apple, and Adidas. With a background in advertising photography, he has shot publications for Vogue, Time Magazine, The New York Times, and Vanity Fair. Carter lives and works in Los Angeles and New York.
