Conversation group with d.a.i. teacher Scott Stelle. This quarter we are going to focus on November's presidential election against the backdrop of what appears to be an exceptional election. Interestingly, both sides are predicting nothing less than apocalyptic change if their party does not win. Both the Democrats and Republicans are equally accusing each other of being fascists and ultimately a “totalitarian cult”—be it a paranoid “QAnon” creed or globalist “Woke” cabal. Is this talk hyperbole or is this election indeed the most important election since 1860?
At the same time, America is already in the middle of an information war. Election misinformation and foreign disinformation are becoming harder to counter through fact-checking services while positions get sucked into the ongoing culture wars. We are looking forward to a roller coaster of a ride this quarter. Come one, come all ...
