NEW: Songwriting in English Workshop

Beschreibung

Songs are among the most powerful forms of storytelling. In just a few minutes, a song can create a character, evoke a place, capture a memory, or express an emotion with extraordinary precision and impact.

Designed to unleash the subconscious and help non-native speakers explore songwriting in English, this workshop will feature time-tested techniques to unblock writers' block and release participants' creative flow. With the instructor as the guide, participants will learn by doing. They will explore how to use the English language to create meaning, atmosphere, and emotional resonance. Attention will be given to imagery, rhythm, metaphor, storytelling, and, most importantly, discovering their original voice.

The Songwriting in English Workshop is a safe place. Participants will be encouraged to start wherever they are in their songwriting journey. Songs and ideas will be supported in a collaborative atmosphere with constructive feedback. Common songwriting guidelines will be discussed to give structure to beginners, while more advanced participants may want to break those rules. There is no one way to write a song.

Even those who don't play an instrument can join in. During the breakout sessions, participants will have an opportunity to work alone or collaborate with others. In the final session, all participants will have an opportunity to share their work with the rest of the group.
