Zum Abitur-Schwerpunktthema On the Move: Migration and Cross-Cultural Encounters
Interactive Talk. Set mainly in rural Montana, Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival (2016) raises profound questions about alien lifeforms and what it takes
to overcome boundaries – be they cultural, linguistic, or emotional. A native-speaking teacher will analyze pivotal scenes from the film, discuss the challenges and opportunities that arise when engaging with the “Other,”
and explore how communication can bridge divides. The discussion is not limited to the fictional world of Arrival – it connects to urgent real-world issues: In our globalized society, how can we build bridges rather than walls?
This event is ideal for students preparing for the Abitur.
