The „U.S. Election Speaker Series“ is a cooperation initiative between the Aspen Institute Germany & the Associaton of German-American Centers. Its goal is to provide interested groups from German society with insight into the U.S. Election, facilitating dialogue and contributing to a stronger and more dynamic transatlantic relationship.
Ambassador Douglas E. Lute is the former United States Ambassador to NATO. He assumed the Brussels-based post in 2013 and served until 2017. During this period, he was instrumental in designing and implementing the 28-nation Alliance responses to the most severe security challenges in Europe since the end of the Cold War.
