Discussion with Q&A. Join Melissa Frazier and Astrid Franke for a conversation about the current protests on U.S. campuses and the complicated issues that they raise, both specifically with regard to the on-going crisis in Israel and Palestine and more broadly in terms of how universities best foster free intellectual debate.

 

PhD Melissa Frazier is a professor of Russian Language and Russian and Comparative Literature at Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, NY. Frazier is a DAAD visiting professor at the Slavic Department in Tübingen during the summer semester 2024.

Prof. Dr. Astrid Franke is a professor of American Studies in Tuebingen. Her research interests include Popular Culture, Cultural History and Theory, Modern and Contemporary Novel, and, as an underlying thread, intersections of literature and sociology.
