Our Youth trips

The d.a.i. offers two different Youth Trips for teenager and young adults. Thanks to our long-lasting experience we were able to build a network with different local cooperation partners.  Our trips to the U.S. provide both a professional language training as well as the opportunity to thoroughly get to know the “American Way of Life”.

California here we come!

For Teenagers ages 15 to 19 we offer a 3-weeks-long trip to San Diego which connects the South-Californian attitude to life with a professional language training.

Right next to the ocean sport enthusiasts will have the time of their lives. Whether it is surfing, playing Beach Volleyball, American Football or Baseball – we offer something for everyone.

Our local cooperation partner is the language school CEL, College of English Language, in San Diego. It is situated at the city center and has long lasting experiences teaching English. All teachers are Cambridge- & TOEIC/TOEFL certified as well as trained in teaching ESL (English as a Second Language). This makes sure that our participants get a first-rate language training.

Also, culture-wise we have quite the program for our participants: In Balboa Park they can visit many museums, theaters and cafés. The “Old Town” invites everyone to take a stroll along beautifully restored buildings. The trendy Gaslamp Quarter and the different shopping malls closely situated to the language school make shopping after class possible. The teenagers can also visit the internationally renowned San Diego Zoo or Universal Film Studios.

Our d.a.i. project coordinator and the language school make sure that the participants get their money’s worth.

During the 3 weeks the teenagers will live with carefully selected host families. Staying with a local family is the best way to get an insight into the American culture and the everyday life with the additional bonus of learning the language.

A-Levels - and then what?

Get the best preparation for studying at university! Gain first experiences on an American campus as a guest student with intensive assistance and language trainings.

This 7-weeks-long summer programm is specially designed for A-Level students and provides them with a high-quality and comprehensive experience as a guest student in Delaware.

The University of Delaware is situated in the student town Newark. From there it only takes two hours to get to New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlantic City and Baltimore as well as the beaches of Delaware.

During this 7-week-long stay the young adults have the opportunity to improve their speaking- and writing skills as well as their reading- and listening comprehension. Additionally, they will be able to submerge themselves into the American language and culture.

At the university you can freely decide which classes to take: film, media studies, literature, American culture, music, history or Business English.

The courses are Monday to Friday and encompass 28h a week.

Outside of class there is a lot to do as well: diverse cafés and clubs, daytrips to New York, Washington D.C. or Philadelphia, shopping at American malls, American culture in theatre, cinema, or concerts etc. There are no limits for our participants!
