  • Impeachment vs. Re-Election: How Politics, Society, and Money Influence the US-Elections

    Donnerstag, 28.11.2019 - 19:15 Uhr

Talk by Prof. David McCuan, Sonoma State University, California. In 2020, the U.S. will elect not only a President, but will also conduct important national and sub-national elections affecting the future direction of the nation and its relationships with other nations. Two months before this important year kicks off, the U.S. is stuck in a fierce battle between President Trump and his opposition. In this talk, David McCuan examines the possible outcomes of the impeachment process that the Democrats initiated, and the dynamics affecting political actors and institutions as the process of elections unfolds. Additionally, he will analyze how changing demographics, money, and issues such as the economy and foreign policy all join to determine election outcomes.

Prof. David McCuan was a Fulbright Teaching Scholar in 2009-2010. He currently teaches American Politics, International Relations, and Public Administration at Sonoma State University, California.
